The Wedding Planner 2 #

Before all the excitement of last week, I promised to tell you more about my wedding planner.

Her name is Seifa, and the name of her company is Shoestring Weddings.

I love Seifa. She is everything I am not - calm, organised, softly spoken (as opposed to excitable, messy and sweary).

We do not always agree. She is more 'weddingy' than me. I suppose that comes with the territory. But to her credit, she is making every effort to understand and translate my vision. She has good ideas. She continually reminds me to include Mickey in the planning (sometimes I get carried away and forget that I am not marrying myself). She keeps an eye on the budget (sometimes I get carried away and forget that I am not Rockefeller). She insists I make timely decisions. She deals with the necessities that bore me, and encourages me to work on the details that excite me. She is a barometer of good taste. She is peace of mind. She is the voice of reason in the face of a trillion crafty projects. She can recreate a look for a fraction of the price. She will listen.

Sometimes, I have to reign her in (I'm currently making a stand against tulle and fairylight swags for the stage). Sometimes she has to reign me in (examples too numerous to mention). Together we are finding a happy balance, slowly but surely. And I am so excited to see how it all turns out!

She sounds like the right woman for the job, someone to balance you out a bit.

By the way, it made me smile when you signed your real name over at my place :)
